The Atlanta Falcons used the 2025 NFL Draft as the place to find significant upgrades on the defensive side of the ball. They were able to do that cause they have a nice collection of playmakers on offense.

The Falcons had a no-brainer decision to make regarding receiver Drake London's fifth-year option, which they finally exercised on April 30. Running back Bijan Robinson didn't waste any time expressing his excitement about the decision. On his X account, Robinson tweeted, "Ahhhhhh Let’s gooo."

Bijan Robinson Happy to See Drake London’s Fifth-Year Option Picked Up

Robinson has been London's teammate for the past two years and sees what he brings to the field. The USC product is a true No. 1 wideout for Atlanta. He uses his frame to excel in contested catch situations while being shifty in open space.

In 50 career games, London has reeled in 241 receptions for 3,042 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns. He's fresh off career-highs in catches (100), receiving yards (1,271), and touchdowns (9).

It was an easy decision to pick up his fifth-year option for the 2026 season, but it took the Falcons a while to make that choice for some reason. Fellow first-round receivers from the 2022 draft class like Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, and Jameson Williams all had their options picked up for a while now. Atlanta's lack of urgency raised some eyebrows, but it's in the rearview mirror going forward.

The next thing on the list is discussing an extension. The receiver market is one of the fastest-growing ones in the league. Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase agreed to a four-year, $161 million extension, making a league-high $41 million a year.

The aforementioned Wilson could be next for an extension from the New York Jets, and that deal will land in the ballpark of $30 million or more. The Falcons are a better team with London on it, which is why Robinson is thrilled to see the Falcons pick up his fifth-year option.
