The Atlanta Braves had a short-lived reunion with World Series champ and past postseason hero Eddie Rosario. To start the 2025 season, it was believed Atlanta had outfield answers in Bryan De La Cruz, Jarred Kelenic, and Jurickson Profar. Not one of this trio now remains on Atlanta's active roster. It speaks to a team that has attempted to pivot quickly and fix the frustrating start to the season. One of those proposed solutions was outfielder Eddie Rosario.

It is a continued theme for a team that hasn't been shy about bringing back former players in an attempt to fix current issues. Rosario garnered one start to give Alex Verdugo the day off and looked exactly the same. Brian Snitker even made the laughable decision to put Rosario up as a pinch-hitter in a potential game-winning situation. Rosario continued to swing away at the plate, showing the veteran hitter continues to fail to make basic adjustments.

Eddie Rosario's Short-Lived Atlanta Braves Reunion Shows Where the Veteran's Career Has Fallen

What made Eddie Rosario so exciting during his first tenure in Atlanta during the 2021 season has ultimately led to his downfall in the league. It is a free swinging approach that refuses to navigate at-bats based on the situation or count. Rosario is going up there to put the ball in play as hard as possible and hope for the best.

It is obvious how this flawed approach would eventually be exposed by opposing pitchers. This is where Rosario finds himself after Atlanta's latest pivot. Things were so bad that Atlanta opted to replace Rosario with an equally awful hitter based simply on the speed and defense that Luke Williams can bring to Atlanta's bench.

With this in mind, the value has never been lower for Eddie Rosario. This is already the second team that outfielder has failed with. Both the Dodgers and Braves had the veteran in the system for a very short time before deciding it was time to move on.

The latest release is a new career low and drives home the need for a change from Rosario. Until that happens, Rosario's career as a starting or bench option in this league is all but over.
