Former Atlanta Braves infielder Dylan Moore has hit free agency after being granted his release by the Seattle Mariners. Moore's journeyman quest to find a landing spot will continue after another failed stint. If Moore's name doesn't ring a bell for some Atlanta fans, it is likely due to a very short and underwhelming tenure at the start of the Braves' turning the corner. The infielder was part of a notable deal that sent Jeff Francoeur to the Miami Marlins in the 2016 season.

Moore would spend the next two years in the minor league system before being released in 2018. In the years since leaving the Braves, the infielder has spent time with the Brewers and Mariners. There was a time when Seattle thought it had found a possible contributor in the second baseman. However, the offensive numbers have continued to be far too volatile.

It is impossible to keep Moore rostered with the veteran struggling to reach the Mendoza line consistently. Turning the page made sense for the franchise and gives the infielder a chance to find another fresh start. One that is unlikely to happen in Atlanta, even with the history.

Former Braves Infielder Dylan Moore Hits Another Roadblock in Frustrating Career

While the Braves bench is far from a complete unit, you're not getting anything from Moore; your current options aren't bringing. Luke Williams already has the offensively compromised infielder position filled and adds the wrinkle of being a pitching option in garbage time. There have been points when Williams has looked better than the actual viable options out of Atlanta's pen.

All of this adds up to a frustrating 2025 end for Moore. It is difficult to see any team willing ot take on the infielder at this late stage of the season. Roster spots are better utilized for calling up prospects or current options. It is very possible that the former Brave is reaching the end of his career.

As frustrating as this might appear, Moore has had a long stay in the league even as the offensive struggles have persisted. If this is it, it was at least an extended chance for the failing infielder as the veteran now weighs his future.
