Unless we are given a playoff miracle, the Atlanta Hawks are heading for a quick playoff exit this postseason. Even if the team manages to get out of the NBA Play-In Tournament, the teams awaiting them are either the Cleveland Cavaliers or Boston Celtics. Both teams boast loaded rosters with size that will challenge the Hawks and three-point shooters that will simply outpace Trae Young and a youthful Atlanta roster. With this in mind, much of Atlanta's attention should already be turning to the 2025-26 offseason.

Despite being stuck at the bottom of the bracket yet again, Atlanta fans have reason for hope. No longer is this team stuck in neutral with no idea which way to turn. The emergence of Dyson Daniel and Jalen Johnson leaves room to believe this team is a piece or two away from being a real playoff contender. However, this requires giving up veteran pieces to open up cap space to make needed improvements.

This could include a current key piece of Atlanta's bench that is slated to hit free agency this offseason.

Atlanta Hawks Must Evaluate Whether or Not Caris LeVert Should Return Next Season

Atlanta fans have been audience to the full Caris LeVert experience since the forward was acquired as part of the De'Andre Hunter trade. There are moments when LeVert can appear to be the most talented offensive force on the floor. And then there are stretches when you forget the forward is in the game, or grow frustrated with shots that should have been passes.

No matter where you fall on LeVert, it is undeniable that having this kind of offensive upside coming off the bench can be very valuable. However, the Hawks find themselves in an interesting position with an extremely young roster. The argument can be made that letting pending free agents Clint Capela and LeVert both walk away opens up enough cap space to add a needed veteran.

Much will be decided in the next week as Atlanta evaluates exactly how close they could be. Caris LeVert's future is one of the more interesting stories as Atlanta heads for what appears to be a quick postseason appearance.
