The Atlanta Hawks have long been tied to Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown due to the fact that Brown is from Marietta, Georgia, and made perfect sense in Atlanta's lineup. However, this potential pairing appeared to die when Brown signed a massive extension, and Boston retooled its roster, appearing to set up the franchise to keep the star forward long-term. This was the expectation right up until the last two weeks, when the Celtics were eliminated from the playoffs, and Brown took the opportunity to stir up obvious concerns.

What had to catch Atlanta's eye first was Brown letting it be known that this was the most fun he had ever had in a season. Perhaps not the best sentiment to offer when Jayson Tatum missed the bulk of the year and allowed you to shift into a primary role. Brown won Finals MVP and is an NBA champion, and still chose to point to this season as the most fun he has had, with the obvious change being put into the starring role.

If this wasn't bad enough, Brown also had a Twitch stream where he speculated that officials were pushing an agenda and debated calls that were made. It was a bad look for an incredibly smart player and led a number of Boston fans to speculate whether or not the forward could be attempting to push himself off the Celtics roster.

This is where Atlanta comes in with a great roster and the needed picks to get a potential deal done. Dropping Brown onto the team's current roster fixes the current biggest problem and will push the Hawks into legitimate Eastern Conference contenders.

Hawks Hopes of Landing Jaylen Brown Brought Back to Life

It was clear throughout the series to the New York Knicks that Atlanta's biggest problem was the lack of someone to demand the ball and take over. Brown obviously wants to be the primary star, and the Hawks can hand the forward this chance while also offering a return to his home state.

To put it simply, if Brown is going to leave Boston, there is no better landing spot than the Atlanta roster. It takes pressure off Jalen Johnson as well, who appears to be better suited to be a second or third option on a championship team as opposed to the main guy.

Atlanta has to at least consider the potential addition if the Celtics are willing to turn the page after Brown's end of season display. It is at least worth a phone call after both teams exited in the first round and have every reason to consider meaningful changes. This could include a trade of Brown, who would instantly change expectations in Atlanta and answer the team's biggest weakness.
