The Atlanta Falcons haven't made a ton of additions in free agency. They have decided to roll with the nucleus on the roster and fill out the roster via low-cost additions. The Falcons will also use the NFL Draft as an outlet to improve the roster.
With that happening in less than a month, one thing that's clear is Michael Penix Jr. will be the starting quarterback of the future.
There is uncertainty surrounding Kirk Cousins' future with the team but former Falcons QB Matt Ryan decided to help Penix Jr. out.
According to Cameron Wolfe, Ryan will work with Penix Jr. this offseason.
A solution on Kirk Cousins future may come in a few weeks around the draft, but Falcons 2025 focus is centered on QB1 Michael Penix development & growth — a clear plan that is starting early in offseason with help.

Falcons News: Matt Ryan to Mentor Michael Penix Jr.
Wolfe revealed that Raheem Morris wanted to get veteran quarterbacks in Penix's ear. Morris wanted him to understand the kind of work that needs to be put in during the offseason. Ryan will find out what his arm routine is, what he's eating, where he's traveling, and how many days he's working out among other things.
This is something that could greatly benefit Penix Jr. Ryan was a four-time Pro Bowler and an MVP in his NFL career. The Boston College product is the franchise leader in completions (5,242), passing yards (59,735), and passing touchdowns (367).
The Washington product has outstanding tools that have the coaching staff and fanbase excited. Getting mentorship from the best quarterback in team history could help Penix Jr. tap into another level in his sophomore campaign.
There's a reason why Penix Jr. was the eighth overall pick. In five games (three starts) last season, he completed 58% of his throws for 775 passing yards, three passing scores, and three interceptions. In his starts, the Falcons averaged 32 points per game.
The future is bright in Atlanta and Penix Jr. gaining some tips and tricks from Ryan will only benefit him down the line.
