The Atlanta Falcons will be back at IBM Performance Field in Flowery Branch, Ga., for training camp. Both rookies and veterans will report to the building on July 23 and start gearing up for the 2025 campaign.

Although Atlanta focused on the defensive side of the ball this offseason, general manager Terry Fortnenot still made some offensive additions. Following the NFL draft, the Falcons signed undrafted free-agent wideout Nick Nash, agreeing to terms on a three-year, $2.985 million deal.

Even though Drake London, Darnell Mooney, and Ray-Ray McCloud III are the top three WRs on the depth chart, spots behind them can be up for grabs, and Nash may be able to snag one of them after a strong spring.

According to Tori McElhaney of the team website, Nash was a player to watch during the Falcons' rookie minicamp. She wrote, "I loved the touch Nash had in his catch, as well as his ability to track a ball through the air. He made a catch down the sideline in the 7-on-7 period, going up and over the nearest defender, that displayed a vertical and extension that was just sheer athleticism and instinct. You could see why he'd been so successful at the college level."

That certainly sounds like someone who could make an impact in the Michael Penix Jr.-led offense.

In his time at San Jose State, Nash snagged 163 catches for 2,212 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns. He earned All-American honors for his 2024 performance as he took home a triple crown by leading the nation in receptions (104), receiving yards (1,382), and touchdown grabs (16).

Even though Nash isn't the fastest or most shifty, he has shown the ability to consistently go up and bring down contested catches. He still needs to work on his route running, but he owns the skills to make the Falcons' 53-man roster.

It didn't take long for Nash to catch the attention of McElhaney, and if he continues to impress in practice, his chances of impressing Atlanta fans and coaches will skyrocket. Yes, he's an undrafted free agent, so he will need to prove the Falcons right for signing him in the first place, but he's on the right track to achieving that goal.
