If there is one remaining defensive concern for the Atlanta Falcons, it is the secondary. After A.J. Terrell, the unit is full of question marks.
Re-signing Mike Hughes was a solid decision, but it's far from solved the team's situation. This is illustrated by bringing back both Dee Alford and Kevin King, who were re-signed simply due to a lack of depth, rather than for any unique talent they bring to the table.
One speculated fit to improve this group has been current Miami Dolphins corner Jalen Ramsey. The veteran's ties to Raheem Morris have made the Falcons a speculated landing spot, and it's clear this connection has merit.
Wyche: Jalen Ramsey’s relationship with Raheem Morris “as strong as it could possibly get”; won’t rule out #Falcons trade

The Atlanta Falcons Could Complete Their Defensive Rebuild by Trading for Veteran Jalen Ramsey
NFL insider Steve Wyche recently commented on this, noting that while Atlanta wouldn't be in a "rush" to make the move, Ramsey's relationship with Morris is "as strong as it could possibly get." This leaves the door open for Ramsey to join Atlanta in the 2025 offseason.
One of the few downsides of the move is the fact that you've already spent next year's first-round pick adding James Pearce Jr. The trade value of Ramsey is up for debate, though it seems likely to be a pick of note. Regardless, the Falcons should be reaching out to Miami to gauge the potential price and Ramsey's level of interest.
With this in mind, a move cannot be ruled out, even though the Falcons are currently hamstrung by Kirk Cousins' contract. Atlanta remains stuck with the veteran as a backup, as they've been unable to find a team willing to take on a meaningful portion of his 2025 deal.
Despite this, the team should still be making an attempt to improve the biggest weakness, and trading for Ramsey does just that. Things are so up in the air in the secondary, Atlanta has rookies Billy Bowman and Cobee Bryant both fighting for meaningful roles. This, along with the re-signing of Alford, drives home how much room for improvement there is in the secondary.
Pairing Ramsey with Terrell, even at this late stage of the veteran's career, would be a great decision for the franchise. One that completes the defensive rebuild and perhaps Atlanta a stronger chance at contending for the NFC South.
