The Atlanta Falcons have definitely had some highs and lows so far this season. Somehow, after losing in a shutout to the Carolina Panthers, the Falcons stormed back and beat the Commanders the next week. After a chaotic start, the Falcons are still very much alive in a playoff hunt and chance to win the NFC South. To get over that hump, it is important that they make some moves before the trade deadline hits in November. Here are the five best targets for the Falcons to go after, ranked in order.

5. David Njoku

Yes, Atlanta still has Kyle Pitts, but what David Njoku could do for this Atlanta offense is unmatched in the NFL. Atlanta could potentially team up two of the most athletic tight ends in the NFL for a dangerous two-tight-end attack. With Njoku being in a contract year for a struggling Cleveland Browns team, this trade could make sense for both sides. The trade could also give Atlanta a safety net in case they want to explore moving Pitts elsewhere in what would be a splash move.

4. Greg Newsome II

Another Cleveland Brown in the mix for Atlanta is Greg Newsome II. Newsome is in the final year of his contract, and Cleveland is already in a cap deficit with the extension of players like Myles Garrett. Trading Newsome would not only free Cleveland up some cap space for the offseason but also give Atlanta some much-needed cornerback depth behind AJ Terrell. A win-win for both teams and should not cost Atlanta much to get.

3. Cam Taylor-Britt

Cam Taylor-Britt is a slightly better option to go after for Atlanta due to his strength at playing press coverage. The Cincinnati Bengals' cornerback is strongest when playing outside coverage, which could be exactly what Atlanta is looking for. Another new addition to this secondary could help lock down the big play opportunities for opponents downfield and allow the Falcons' new pass rushers to get opportunities to shine.

2. Jakobi Meyers

With Darnell Mooney struggling with injuries early, Michael Penix is in need of a solid WR2. Jakobi Meyers of the Las Vegas Raiders could be that answer. Since week two, Meyers has steadily increased his receiving yardage per game up to the 97 yards he just had versus the Patriots. However, the Raiders continue to struggle. With the Raiders potentially looking to go into rebuild mode, the Falcons could jump on the opportunity to get the talented receiver for a few day-two draft picks. Meyers would provide immediate impact and could complement Drake London on the outside well.

1. Jeffrey Simmons

This move would be a huge score for both teams. The Titans are in rebuild mode, and former All-Pro defensive lineman Jeffrey Simmons eats up a major chunk of Tennessee's cap space. The Titans could trade Simmons to Atlanta and not only free up major cap space, but also get some solid picks in return. Atlanta needs help in the middle of the defensive line immediately. They have struggled at the line of scrimmage on defense and could use an experienced player to create some havoc. Simmons could be an excellent complement to rookies Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr., and bring them to their full potential.
