The Atlanta Falcons had an up and down season in 2024. In the first year under Raheem Morris, the Falcons went 8-9 and narrowly missed the playoffs.

This roster has a lot of talent but wasn't able to close the door on multiple occasions. The Falcons will use the NFL Draft as one avenue to improve the roster. They hold the 15th overall pick in the first round and could bring in a impactful player on Day 1 of the draft.

The Falcons have multiple holes along the roster and need to improve in some key areas. One of those spots is at edge rusher. They were 31st in the league in team sacks (31). This unit needs some juice and one player that could provide a spark at pick No. 15 is Georgia EDGE Mykel Williams.

Williams has all the physical tools that teams look for in a pass-rusher. He stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 265 pounds. Williams has tremendous power at the point of attack with great play recognition skills in the run game.

The Georgia native hasn't been able to put it all together in college but is the ideal pass-rushing prospect. In 40 collegiate games, Williams compiled 67 total tackles, 23 TFLs, and 14 sacks.

Another player that could be a target for the Falcons is cornerback Will Johnson.

The Falcons have a sneaky need at cornerback with Mike Hughes and Dee Alford slated to hit free agency.

Johnson is the No. 1 cornerback prospect in this draft class. He stands at 6'2 and uses his length to his advantage. Johnson gets disruptive with receivers and will find a way to get his hands on the ball.

The Michigan native plays with an effortless back pedal and breaks on the football with ease. He has no problem playing in both man or zone coverage.

In 32 games with the Michigan Wolverines, Johnson had 68 total tackles, 10 pass breakups, and nine interceptions.

These are two players who would have a role Day 1 on the Falcons roster. The defense could use some work, and both players would give the Falcons a nice boost at two weaknesses.
