Kyle Korver still impressing with USA basketball national team

While teammate Paul Millsap was one of several players cut earlier this week, Atlanta Hawks shooting guard Kyle Korver is still with the team, and–according to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution–making that presence known:

Korver should have a decent shot of making the final team thanks to the combination of his veteran presence and elite shooting ability from the outside. His game isn’t as complete as many of the other players that are currently still with the team, but as of this point it sounds like Coach K is impressed with what Korver’s done.

The final roster must be cut down to 12 players by August 29, for the FIBA Basketball World Cup that is going to be held in Spain, starting on August 30. Coach K and the rest of the coaching staff will use a final camp in New York to determine what the final roster will be.

Here are the rest of the players who are still with the team, courtesy of Vivlamore’s story (linked above):

"Along with Korver, the roster currently consists of DeMarcus Cousins (Kings), Stephen Curry (Warriors). Anthony Davis (Pelicans), DeMar DeRozan (Raptors), Andre Drummond (Pistons), Kevin Durant (Thunder), Kenneth Faried (Nuggets), James Harden (Rockets), Gordon Hayward (Jazz), Kyrie Irving (Cavaliers), Damian Lillard (Trail Blazers), Chandler Parsons (Mavericks), Derrick Rose (Bulls) and Klay Thompson (Warriors). Mason Plumlee (Nets) was added from the select team."
