Atlanta Hawks vs. Golden State Warriors preview: The Showdown

facebooktwitterreddit

Oh, this one is going to be fun.

The 41-9 Atlanta Hawks, the top team in the Eastern Conference hosting Stephen Curry and the 39-8 Golden State Warriors, the top team in the Western Conference.

For what seems like months now, these two teams have owned the NBA. Now we’ll finally get to see which team is best, and–dare I say it–possibly a preview of the NBA Finals this year? Maybe.

Either way, these two teams are good.

Golden State is first in the league in points per game (111.4) and first in the league in assists per game (27.3).

Atlanta is sixth in the NBA in points per game (103.4), second in the league in assists per game (25.9) and third overall in points allowed per game (96.5).

The Warriors have lost just three games since the start of January, while the Atlanta Hawks just recently ended their 19-game winning streak and flawless start to the new year.

Is Mike Budenholzer’s team-oriented, balanced team going to be enough to take down the high-scoring Warriors and MVP-candidate Steph Curry? We’ll find out on Friday night–along with the rest of the NBA world, who’s sure to be tuning in as well.
