Atlanta Hawks vs. Orlando Magic preview: On the way to nine straight?

facebooktwitterreddit

Things are going very well for the Atlanta Hawks at the moment, as the team has won eight consecutive games. On Friday evening, the Hawks will play host to the Orlando Magic at Philips Arena, and with a win, Atlanta could be sitting atop the Eastern Conference standings by the end of the night.

The Hawks have been impressive on both ends of the floor in recent games, and that has led to the team being ranked in the top ten in the NBA in both categories. In this match-up, the Magic have quality personnel defensively, but they have struggled to score points with any level of consistency, largely due to their youth and inability to stretch the floor with some of their lineups.

The match-up of the night comes up front, with Al Horford facing Orlando’s Nikola Vucevic. Horford has shown real signs of turning the corner in the last week or two, and he can continue that development against one of the more productive big men in the East.

The Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic will also be getting together on Saturday (this time in central Florida), so it would be very nice for Mike Budenholzer and his team to grab the momentum of a win on Friday.
