Atlanta Hawks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers preview: Say hello to LeBron

facebooktwitterreddit

After taking down the Chicago Bulls Monday, the Atlanta Hawks go after another top team in the Eastern Conference tonight: the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James.

At 14-9, the Cavs are currently 5th in the Eastern Conference, while Mike Budenholzer’s Hawks are holding down the No. 3 spot with a 17-7 record. The Cavs are coming off of a 97-88 home victory against the Charlotte Hornets, where the King scored a team-high 27 points and a dished out a team-high 13 assists.

The scariest part about that game though, was the fact that Cleveland started it on a 21-0 run. That’s unheard of–at least in my (very much) limited background of the NBA.

Still, no team should strike fear into this current Hawks group, given the way they have been playing. Atlanta has won 12 of their last 14 games and do it with a balanced attack and improved defense. At the same time, the Cavaliers have won 9 of their past 11 and seem to be figuring things out with their new, extremely talented, core of players.

It’ll be interesting to see how the team fares in LeBron’s own building, and this should be yet another exciting game for Hawks fans.
