Atlanta Hawks vs. Detroit Pistons preview: The Post-Josh Smith Bowl

facebooktwitterreddit

Josh Smith is no longer a member of the Detroit Pistons or the Atlanta Hawks, but his legacy lives on in our hearts and minds. Much has been made about Smith’s exit from Detroit and arrival in Houston, and it has been comical to the extent of how well the Pistons have played and how poorly things have gone with the Rockets. On Friday, the Hawks and Pistons get together to see who has more mojo at the moment.

Atlanta and Detroit enter the match-up with the two longest winning streaks in the East, and the Hawks are the toast of the NBA world right now after Tinder Night and 20 wins in 22 games. Still, the Pistons appear to be a different team without Smoove, and Andre Drummond has come alive to the tune of 17 rebounds per game in the last 10 contests. Detroit still isn’t the most talented team, however, and that should give Hawks fans some comfort, even in a road game.

The Atlanta Hawks are firing on all cylinders right now, and to be honest, it is a lot of fun to watch. On Friday, we will see if that positive momentum can continue against a team that is equally (and randomly) excelling in their own right.
