Paul Millsap leads Atlanta Hawks over Brooklyn Nets for 17th-straight win
Paul Millsap destroyed the Brooklyn Nets tonight and helped lead the Atlanta Hawks to their 17th straight victory and their 18th win of the season–their total number of wins from just last season.
On the back of Millsap’s 28-point performance, the Hawks managed to take down the Nets 113-102. The greatest part about Millsap’s effort tonight, is the fact that he scored the game-high by making just five baskets from the floor. Millsap went 5-for-9 from the floor and 15-for-16(!!!) from the free throw line while tacking on 15 rebounds for good measure.
As a team, Atlanta shot 46.3 percent from the floor, 36.4 percent from 3 and 96.2 percent from the charity stripe. Millsap was the only Hawk to miss a free throw on the night, with DeMarre Carroll 4-for-4 and Mike Scott, Pero Antic and Dennis Schroeder all going 2-for-2.
The former Hawk Joe Johnson led things for the Nets, scoring 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting and 3-for-6 from behind the arc.
In addition to Millsap, Al Horford and Jeff Teague can claim double-doubles of their own tonight. Horford was an extremely efficient 10-of-13 shooting with 10 rebounds and the Teague scored 13 and handed out 11 dimes.

The only player with an extremely poor night was Antic off of the bench. The big man struggled to shoot the ball in this one, missing all eight of his shots–including five 3-point efforts. Still, in 15 minutes he managed to pull down seven rebounds and finish +15.
Schroeder had another nice performance after coming off of the bench for 18 minutes. The German point guard scored 13 points on 5-for-8 shooting and had a pair of a assists and a rebound.
The Hawks will get back in action Friday against the Portland Trailblazers, where they’ll look for their 18th-straight win–that’s crazy.
