Atlanta Hawks vs. Memphis Grizzlies preview: Visiting Graceland
By Brad Rowland
The Atlanta Hawks are the story of the NBA right now. Friday night was an enormous party at Philips Arena, as the Hawks downed the Golden State Warriors in one of the most entertaining regular season games in recent memory. However, Mike Budenholzer and his team have a very difficult follow-up to that particular performance, as they are set to take the floor against a top-flight Western Conference opponent in the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday evening.
The Grizzlies enter with the second-best record in the West at 37-13, but Memphis actually tripped up on Friday night against Minnesota. That could prove to be an interesting subplot, as Marc Gasol, Mike Conley and company could be angry in this spot, but regardless, the Grizzlies are a difficult match-up for any team in the NBA because of their gritty style of play.
We are at the point where the Atlanta Hawks are seemingly always “expected” to win, but in the same breath, winning in Memphis would be another extraordinary accomplishment. Stay tuned.
