Georgia Bulldogs vs. Auburn Tigers preview: Stay hot at home

The Georgia Bulldogs are playing high-level basketball at the moment, and they will aim to keep that level of play going on Saturday afternoon in Athens. After an impressive performance in a road win over Texas A&M on Wednesday, the Dawgs will host SEC West rival Auburn at Stegeman Coliseum in a game that they are strongly favored to win.

More from Georgia Bulldogs

Our friends at KenPom.com have installed the Georgia Bulldogs as massive 14-point favorites in the game (with both Las Vegas and off-shore outlets not far behind), and that is indicative of just how well Mark Fox’s team is playing. The Dawgs have won seven out of their last nine games, and with a road loss to Kentucky included, that mark looks even better.

From the opponent’s perspective, Auburn is much improved in year one under Bruce Pearl, but the Tigers are still under .500 (11-13) on the season. Frankly, this is a must-win spot for Georgia at home, and even with a comfortable seed secured in the NCAA Tournament at this stage, the Bulldogs cannot afford what would be an ugly loss in front of their home fans in Athens.
