Georgia Tech vs. Florida State preview: Valentine’s Day hoops
By Brad Rowland
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets suffered a brutal late defeat at the hands of Virginia Tech earlier in the week, and Brian Gregory’s team has another test on Saturday. This year, Valentine’s Day arrives as the Florida State Seminoles take the floor at McCamish Pavilion, and while the ‘Noles are having a rough season by recent standards, this is anything but a walkover for the home team.
Despite a 2-10 record in ACC play, though, the Yellow Jackets are actually considered (at least by some) as the favorite in this match-up. KenPom lists Georgia Tech as a six-point favorite in their home building, and despite a solid showing by FSU in their three-point loss against Duke, there isn’t a great deal of respect for this year’s team in garnet and gold.

We are long past the point of referencing “much needed” wins for a Georgia Tech team with little to play for, but it would be nice to see the Jackets put together some momentum as the season closes. Brian Gregory, for one, could certainly use a positive showing.
