Carroll, Hawks Fired Up For Game 4 Tomorrow Night

It’s safe to say that the Atlanta Hawks were not pleased with their performance yesterday evening, falling to the Washington Wizards 103-101 on a clutch Paul Pierce buzzer beater to win Game 3.  The Hawks had a light practice today and a lengthy film session afterwards.  I’m so happy to hear this because lengthy film sessions for the Hawks means that Coach Bud is getting after it.

More from Atlanta Hawks

If y’all care to remember it was that lengthy film session in November that catapulted Atlanta to the best record in the Eastern Conference.  It’s all going to come back to defense, especially on the perimeter as Coach Bud has had enough of Otto Porter, Jr. making threes in this series.  Paul Pierce is still really good and he’ll get his.  I think we are going to see some inspired Atlanta Hawks basketball tomorrow night.

After practice, SF DeMarre Carroll told Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, “If you are on the Atlanta Hawks and you don’t come out with a sense of urgency next game, then you are not an Atlanta Hawk.”  While actions speak louder than words, this quote has to get even the most deflated Hawks supporters fired up.  The Junkyard Dog is mad.  Good news for the Hawks, bad news for the Wizards.

“If you are on the Atlanta Hawks and you don’t come out with a sense of urgency next game, then you are not an Atlanta Hawk.” – Atlanta Hawks SF DeMarre Carroll

Paul Millsap says that he believes his stomach virus that plagued him in Game 3 was just a 24 hour flu bug.  He expects to play better tomorrow night.  Let’s hope no Hawks catch what Millsap had.  Atlanta will need a full team effort if the Hawks want to take back home court advantage for Wednesday night’s Game 5 at Philips Arena.

Al Horford knows says he knows how important Game 4 with be for the Atlanta Hawks.  I certainly hope so.  Prove it tomorrow night by dominating Marcin Gortat and Nene in every facet of the game.  I think a couple of alley-oop transition dunks will do the trick.

Defensively I believe that we are going to see next level aggression and amped up tenacity.  Somebody is going to get hot from beyond the arc and if the backcourt takes care of the basketball, I think the Atlanta Hawks will bring this series between Southeastern Division rivals back home all tied up at two.  This is a must win game and I sense that the Hawks are going to come up big in Game 4 tomorrow night.  Let’s Go Hawks!
