Little used Thomas Bellas and Jon Horford (the younger brother of the Atlanta Hawks’ Al Horford) played 4 and 5 minutes in the game, allowing Kenny Atkinson to use the entirety of the Hawks’ 16 man Summer League roster this week. Brandon Ashley scored 3 points, and former Nebraska standout Terran Pettaway added 8 points in 20 minutes played. Big man Greg Smith scored 8 points in a little under 16 minutes on the court in Monday’s game.

At this juncture in the Last Vegas Summer League, both Lamar Patterson and Glenn Robinson III have established themselves as the prime candidates to receive invitations to the Atlanta Hawks training camp with a chance to claim the 15th and last roster spot in October. Walter Tavares’s performance has been noteworthy as well, giving Hawks fans a glimpse of what he can do on an NBA roster.

Mike Muscala’s play in the Summer League in 2015 has displayed how much he has grown in his two-year career. He will no doubt have some part to play in the Head Coach Mike Budenholzer’s system next season as a featured rotation player in the front-court. His purpose for returning to Las Vegas this summer was to develop his leadership skills. As the featured player on the Summer League roster, he will continue to grow his offensive game and defensive skill-set, despite being somewhat overqualified.

The Atlanta Hawks Summer League team resumes play on Wednesday when the Summer League Tournament commences with an opponent and time still not determined.
