The Atlanta Hawks schedule for the 2015-2016 season was released yesterday and showed truly how far the Hawks have come in the eyes of the media.

The Atlanta Hawks will boast 17 nationally televised games during the 2015-2016 season. Yes, Hawks fans — 17 games on national television. This includes 6 games on the Worldwide Leader’s network, as well as 2 games on Atlanta based TNT. NBA TV will broadcast the remaining 9 “nationally” televised games, so long as you have the network as a part of your cable or satellite programming.

More from Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks will begin their season at home against the Detroit Pistons on October 27th. Another change to the schedule this year for the Hawks will be later start times for weekday home games. For years, the Atlanta Hawks have tipped off at 7:30, only for fans not to fill the seats until the second quarter because of Atlanta rush traffic. The later start times should attenuate the pressure of fighting traffic for patrons, allowing Philips Arena to be full by tip-off.

DeMarre Carroll will make his return to Philips Arena on December 2nd when the Toronto Raptors and the Hawks play for the first time in the season. The Atlanta Hawks will also only play Eastern Conference Champion Cleveland only three times this season, as opposed to four last year.

I’m a big fan of the 8:00 PM start times and am happy the Atlanta Hawks are getting there due by being featured on national television so frequently this coming season. What do you think about the schedule? Let us know in the comments section.
