Detroit Tigers vs. Atlanta Braves
- September 30th – October 2nd
- Turner Field
The 2016 regular season and the final series played at Turner Field will see the Atlanta Braves pitted against Miguel Cabrera and the Detroit Tigers. It would have been a more fitting end of an era if the Braves were to play against a rival like the Washington Nationals or the New York Mets; but the Tigers represent a memorable opponent that will hopefully allow the Braves to go out of Turner Field with a bang, and usher in a new era at SunTrust Park.
The Tigers had an off year this season, but never count those cats out. With one of the best players in the game, and a usually solid starting rotation, the Tigers could be back into playoff contention next season — making this series that much more intriguing. After so many memories at Turner Field, it will be difficult to bid adieu; but if the Braves can make the postseason next year, this series won’t mean goodbye.
