The Atlanta Hawks are beginning to flesh out their training camp roster and look for additional depth, signing former Louisville guard Edgar Sosa and former Miami swingman DeQuan Jones to training camp deals, the AJC’s Chris Vivlamore reports.

Edgar Sosa went undrafted out of Louisville in 2010. Sosa had a stint a few years ago in with the Detroit Pistons Summer League team, and has played internationally in Europe. Edgar Sosa also suited up for the Dominican Republic National Team in the 2015 FIBA Americas Tournament. During the tournament, Sosa averaged 15.1 PPG for Kenny Atkinson’s team, while owning a 54 percent field goal percentage.

Marietta native and Wheeler High School alumnus DeQuan Jones went undrafted out of Miami in 2012, and is now vying for a return to the NBA after playing in Italy’s Lega Basket Serie A basketball league last season. Jones has NBA experience, as the 6’8” SF played 63 games with the Orlando Magic, starting 17 of those contests. He averaged 8.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game during his stint in Italy.

In other training camps news, Chris Vivlamore reports that Al Horford‘s younger brother, Jon Horford, has also received an invitation to the Atlanta Hawks training camp. Horford played at the University of Michigan with current Hawk Tim Hardaway, Jr., and also was a part of the Atlanta Hawks Las Vegas Summer League squad.

With the additions of Sosa, Jones and Horford, the Atlanta Hawks training camp roster is now at 19 players. Former second round draft pick Lamar Patterson, and former Nebraska stand-out Terran Petteway, both members of the Atlanta Hawks Summer League team, will vy for a roster spot with the team this coming season.

Veteran guard Jason Richardson is also signed to a non-guaranteed deal for training camp and will make an attempt to resurrect his career after missing significant time due to injury over the past two seasons with the Philadelphia Sixers. A career 37 percent shooter from beyond the arc, Richardson’s veteran leadership and ability to stretch the floor could become an intriguing piece for the Atlanta Hawks to utilize if he performs well in training camp.

The Atlanta Hawks regular season roster is all but set at this point, with only 1 roster spot remaining. It will be interesting to see how Training Camp plays out; but one has to think that Jason Richardson has the inside track on securing a roster spot if he is at full strength. Hawks Training Camp begins on September 29th at the University of Georgia
