The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets lost on Saturday in their Week 3 matchup against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in South Bend, Indiana by a final score of 30-22.

With the Jackets loss, Tech plummeted from #14 in the AP Poll to #20 — perhaps an overreaction on the part of the AP voters. Regardless of whether the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets dropping from #14 to #20 is too much, the silver lining is at the very least it was:

A non-conference game that will not the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets ability to win their division or the ACC.

It was a road loss to the #8 team in country, which will help the Jackets if they are able to win out and perhaps contend for a CFP berth.

Despite a lackluster game for the first 55+ minutes, the Jackets refused to roll over, and almost came back and won.

There are currently only 3 ACC Teams in the AP Top 25: #10 Florida State, #11 Clemson and #20 Georgia Tech. Florida State dropped 1 spot down to 10 after only beating Boston College 14-0. Clemson remained at #11 after struggling on the road against Louisville, but ultimately squeaked out a win, 20-17.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have a big game this weekend against division rival Duke, which may prove to be a crucial game that could determine the outcome of the division. Let’s take a look at this week’s ACC Coastal Division Power Rankings:
