Georgia Has the Best RB Tandem in College Football

RB Leonard Fournette might have had the best first month of the 2015 College Football Season for LSU, but UGA has the best RB tandem in the country, with sensational sophomores Nick Chubb and Sony Michel. Chubb can on the scene in Week 6 last season after the Todd Gurley Autograph Suspension in Columbia, Missouri. Ladies and Gentlemen, Sony Michel has arrived in 2015.

Both tailbacks for the Georgia Bulldogs are in the midst of intra-squad contest to see who can score more touchdowns for the Dawgs this fall. Entering Week 5 versus Alabama, Chubb and Michel each have 7 scores for the Dawgs.

More from UGA Football

Nick Chubb tied Herschel Walker’s record for most consecutive 100 yard rushing performances with 12 after his 131 yard performance on the ground against Southern University. Chubb has 599 yards on 71 carries with 6 rushing touchdowns in 2015. He also has 3 receptions for 31 yards and a touchdown through the air.

Sony Michel has 223 yards on the ground with 32 attempts and 4 rushing touchdowns. When your “2nd String” RB averages a touchdown run every 8 carries, you have your self a special player. Michel is a major factor in catching passes out of the backfield with 8 catches for 148 yards and 3 touchdowns. Put it this way: every six times Sony Michel touches the football for UGA this season, he scores six points for the Dawgs. He essentially averages a point per touch for Georgia!
