The Georgia Bulldogs enter Week 5 as the number eight team in the country. They somehow drop a spot in the most recent AP Top 25 Poll, despite taming the Southern Jaguars, 48-6 Between the Hedges.

In all honesty, the Georgia Bulldogs have yet to play a formidable opponent this year. Neither South Carolina or Vanderbilt were going to contend in the SEC East this year and both ULM and Southern are obviously not Power 5 opponents.

However, the Georgia Bulldogs do get their chance to prove the doubters wrong when the #13 Alabama Crimson Tide come to Athens for a must-see SEC game. This game will air at 3:30 PM ET as the SEC Game of the Week on CBS. Get ready for a heavy dosage Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson.

More from UGA Football

Should UGA win this game over Nick Saban’s Tide team, Mark Richt’s Dawgs will likely climb into the Top 5 in the AP Poll. Falling to Alabama means that U of A will probably ascend into the Top 10 and UGA will fall into the mid-teens still in control of their SEC Championship and College Football Playoff destiny.

Though Georgia has looked strong in the first third of the regular season, most of the SEC has underwhelmed thus far with only Ole Miss and LSU looking on par with the Dawgs in the Southeastern Conference.

There is still so much football left on the slate in the College Football landscape. Without further ado, here is this week’s SEC East Power Rankings.
