The Yellow Jackets have plummeted in our Power Rankings in recent weeks because of their deplorable play over the past month. Georgia Tech’s hopes of repeating as ACC Coastal Division champions are all but gone at this point, as their 0-4 record puts them in an almost insurmountable deficit.

The top 3 teams in the Power Rankings’ last week held serve in Week 7, maintaining the inside track to clinch a berth to the ACC Championship Game. The bottom of the rankings are currently in flux, as a Miami win over Virginia Tech gives them a chance in the division, but diminishes the Hokies hopes.

More from Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

The University of Virginia got their first ACC victory of the season over Syracuse, perhaps moving them up in these week’s rankings. Regardless of all that transpired in the ACC Coastal Division this past weekend, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets’ performance this season continues to fall far short of their preseason expectations. With a huge game against Florida State this weekend in Atlanta, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets hopes for a winning season hangs in the balance.

There are certainly signs that the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are regaining some confidence, but the fact remains that they still have a long way to go in order reclaim their season. Here are the Week 8 ACC Coastal Division Power Rankings here at ATL All Day.
