The Atlanta Hawks snap their two-game losing streak by clobbering the Brooklyn Nets Saturday night at Philips Arena, 114-86 thanks to a strong second half.

The Atlanta Hawks came back from Milwaukee and played a great all-around get versus the Brooklyn Nets Saturday at home, defeating the Nets 114-86 to stop their losing streak at two games.

Atlanta outscored Brooklyn in every quarter and never allowed the Nets to score more than 25 points per period. This along with a outscoring the Nets 59-38 in the second half allowed the Atlanta Hawks to cruise to a much-needed easy victory at home.

The Hawks shot the basketball very well from the field at 55.7% and had six players in double figures scoring Saturday night. Paul Millsap led the way with 21 points on 8-13 shooting, corralling six rebounds, and dishing out three assists. Almost nightly, he is the best player on the floor for the Atlanta Hawks and should make his third straight All-Star Game.

More from Atlanta Hawks

Dennis Schroder had some amazing dimes running the point tonight. He had 15 points on 6-9 shooting, 10 assists, six rebounds, and three steals in his great game Saturday night.

Kent Bazemore had 15 points on 6-9 shooting, including 3-6 from three-point range. Jeff Teague had 12 points on 4-8 shooting and seven assists. Al Horford had 10 points. Tiago Splitter had 10 points and five rebounds coming off the Atlanta bench.

What seemed like the difference in this game versus the previous two was the intensity we saw from the Atlanta Hawks at the point guard position. Charlotte took 40 three-point field goal attempts on Wednesday, ultimately crushing the Hawks. Milwaukee had a distinct advantage in the frontcourt last night. However, in neither contest did we see either Dennis Schroder or Jeff Teague take charge on offense for the Atlanta Hawks.

Atlanta is a better basketball team when they attack via their point guards early and often. Most teams don’t have the depth at that position to handle what the Atlanta Hawks can throw at them. Perhaps it was a good thing for the Atlanta Hawks to play a team that isn’t strong at the point like the Brooklyn Nets to remind themselves where they can continue to exploit their opposition going forward.
