ByKathryn Morrison|

NBA trade rumors have begun stirring aroundAtlanta Hawks’ small forwardKent Bazemore. This summer,Bazemorewill become an unrestricted free agent. Will he remain “True to Atlanta,” or will he explore his options?

Though Atlanta Hawks coachMike Budenholzerexpressed early on that the Hawks plan to re-signKent Bazemore, he has gained a lot of attention from many teams including the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, and the Sacramento Kings.

Bazemorebegan his professional career when he signed a contract with the Golden State Warriors after going undrafted in the 2012 NBA Draft. After a total of 105 games with the Warriors, he was then traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Bazemore’s time with the Lakers was fairly short, consisting of just 23 games before he signed a two-year contract with the Atlanta Hawks.

In his first season with the Hawks, he spent time in the shadows of DeMarre Carroll. Since Carroll left the team last season,Bazemorehas had the opportunity to establish himself and his abilities.

This season,Bazemorejoined the starting lineup for the Atlanta Hawks and proved himself further as a player. This year, he averaged 11.6 points per game, 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

For any NBA team looking to add a solid shooting guard to their roster,Kent Bazemoremay be their guy.

Let’s start with the Lakers. Are they looking to getBazemoreback? They too have a key player entering free agency (Roy Hibbert), and will be looking for someone who can step up on both offense and defense.

SinceBazemorehas recently established himself as an elite three-and-D player with the Hawks, will the Lakers seek him out a second time?

Bazemorehas also been rumored a potential target for the New York Knicks, who are looking to improve overall.

It is safe to say that he has proved himself on both ends of the court for the Hawks, and could greatly impact the Knicks as well.

There have also been rumors that the Sacramento Kings are unsatisfied with the performance of Marco Belinelli, and that the team may be looking to trade him.

Not to mention, the Kings have also struggled defensively in previous years, and the acquisition ofBazemorecould potentially aid them in that area as well.
