The Atlanta Braves will be choosing a manager in a matter of days. They have possible manger choices down to three. Who should they choose to manage the Braves in 2017?

The Atlanta Braves are reportedly making a decision on who they will hire as their manager in the next week. They have three options to decide between Ron Washington, Bud Black, and Brian Snitker. It is unclear who has the advantage at this point though Washington and Snitker both appear to have a possible advantage.

Ron Washington has a longer history of success and has contacts within the Braves organization that could influence their decision. Bud Black would look to be the least likely hire as the Braves should go with either the outside candidates who has had the most success managing, who would be Ron Washington.

Washington managed the Texas Rangers to two American League Titles and was considered one of the better managers in the League before stepping down due to some personal issues. What exactly those are and the effect they had on his ability to manage could play into the Braves decision.

Bud Black could be a decent manager but it is hard to see how the Braves would see Black as an upgrade over Snitker. Black may have more seasons under his belt but not with a whole lot of success and very little to prove he is a better manager than Brian Snitker.

Snitker has a lot that appears to be in his favor at the current moment including the fact that he already knows the Braves clubhouse and put together an impressive run at the end of the season with a roster that has a lot of unproven and veteran players.

He is the best option for the Braves and should be hired as the Braves’ manager beyond just this season. September and the end of August were not just flashes in the pan they were two months of Snitker proving he has what it takes to manage this team and turn them into a winning one even without a deep bullpen or pitching staff to call on.

Brian Snitker has proven himself as a manager to the Braves front office and should be rewarded with a deserved promotion to manger this season. If the Braves decide to go elsewhere Snitker may become a viable candidate for another team.
