  1. Freddie Freeman

With Chipper Jones retired, and Brian McCann long gone Freddie Freeman has become the unquestioned face of the Braves franchise and was rewarded with a record deal because of it. Despite the job security and playing for a team that hasn’t played a meaningful game in a long time Freeman has never mailed it in and continued to give Atlanta his best and has turned into one of the best hitters in the National League.

Freeman enjoyed a career best year last season despite having little in the lineup around him Freeman broke 30 home-runs for the first time in his career and hit over .300 finishing the season on a tear. He enjoyed finally having protection in the lineup when Matt Kemp was added to the lineup in August.

With a full season of hitting in front of Matt Kemp ahead of him Freeman could put up another career best season and continue to have his name in MVP discussion with some legitimacy.

Next: Players the Braves Need to Add

Freddie Freeman is the best Braves player for the time being and the face of their franchise. With the young talent coming up in the Braves farm system and the aforementioned shortstop that could soon change. Regardless Freeman is a great hitter who should enjoy a great season in an under-rated Braves’ lineup.
