The Atlanta Falcons had a tough test at home against the Seattle Seahawks this afternoon.

The Atlanta Falcons took another step closer to Houston on Saturday afternoon against the Seattle Seahawks dominating the game late and creating two turnovers while consistently getting pressure on the Hawk’s quarterback and kept their offense rolling.

Matt Ryan put his playoff woes behind him playing at a high level and giving a fiery speech on the sidelines that is not typical of Ryan’s quiet leadership style. He kept the offense rolling all day along with a rushing attack that kept the pressure off of Ryan for much of the day.

Ryan threw for three touchdowns and looked every bit the MVP that he has been talked about to be. Targeting all of his receivers just as he has all season long. The one downside to today’s game was a late injury to Julio Jones when he re-aggravated an injury to his foot. His status at practice and throughout the week is one thing to keep an eye on as the Falcons prepare for the winner of tomorrow’s game between the Packers and Cowboys.

The biggest story line of Saturday’s win should be the talent that the defensive unit of the Falcons showed. They played opportunistic defense creating turnovers and sacking Wilson on multiple occasions the Falcons showed that they are capable of playing both defense and offense at a high enough level to make a Super Bowl run.

Tomorrow’s game on FOX will decide who will be facing the Falcons in the next round of the playoffs. The Packers will be taking on the Cowboys on FOX on Sunday afternoon. If the Packers were to win they would travel to Atlanta, while a Cowboys win would mean the Falcons would have to win on the road in Dallas if they want to advance to Houston.
