The Atlanta Hawks were down another starter in today’s game and lost yet another game to the bottom feeding Nets. The Hawks were dominated early in the game and failed to ever bounce back.

If missing Paul Millsap wasn’t bad enough for a struggling Atlanta Hawks unit they are now missing Kent Bazemore and Thabo Sefolosha as well. Three out of five starters were down before today’s game started and the lack of depth came back to bite Atlanta as the losing streak continues.

The Hawks are going to have to right the ship quickly if they don’t want to fall out of the playoffs all together.  Sunday’s 107-92 loss to the Nets was indicative of the type of basketball that the Hawks are playing right now.

Seven losses in a row have the Hawks in a collapse that could end their playoff chances. The good news for the Hawks is that their three missing starters will soon be back and their is little depth in the East that will be challenging them if they can begin to string some wins together.

Another danger to the struggling Hawks could be falling to the 8th seed and playing the Lebron’s Cavs in the first round. Matching up against any Lebron James led team in the first round of the playoffs is not a match-up that the Hawks or their fans want.

The Phoenix Suns will be the Hawks next opponent Tuesday night in Atlanta. The biggest change that the Hawks are going to have to make is getting production from their bench. With a depleted bench the Hawks have really struggled to be able to rest their starters and remain in the game.
