5. Sean Newcomb Has Been Brilliant

Sean Newcomb is 5-1 with a 2.39 ERA this season. Watching Sean pitch is something I look forward to in each of his starts.  Looking forward to seeing a Braves pitcher take the mound is an odd feeling considering the lack of talent in recent years.

Newcomb has shown an increased ability to control his pitches and pitch for contact outs. He has still maintained his nasty breaking pitches that change the pace from his high velocity.

He looks like a pitcher on a mission when he takes the mound. His commanding presence and ability to keep the team in the game is exciting.

It seems every time he starts the Braves win. His 5-1 record on the season bears that out as well. Sean Newcomb could soon be considered the Braves best pitcher and in a must-win game should be handed the ball.

For Newcomb little stands between him and establishing himself as one of the best pitchers in the National League East.
