I know what you’re thinking…Stick a fork in the 2018 Atlanta Falcons, they’re done.

And let’s be honest; The Atlanta Falcons are a mess right now. Major injuries have the team looking like a shell of itself, the defense stinks and now, the offensive line can’t protect Matt Ryan.

The 41-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday gives you every reason to believe that this season has turned into a lost season and many people would not be wrong coming to that conclusion.

But…there is hope that this season can turn around in a hurry. Allow me to explain:

The Falcons currently sit and 1-4 and last place in the NFC South. That’s a pretty bad way to start the first 5 games. However, if there is any bright spot it’s that the Falcons are 1-1 in Divisional Play so far.

If the Falcons do turn it around, the one win against the Panthers could turn out to be huge the rest of the way.

The Falcons next 5 games are against the Bucs, Giants, Redskins, Browns, and Cowboys. What do those teams have in common? They’re all .500 or worse and deeply flawed teams.

The Bucs have a horrendous defense, who last seen, gave up 48 points and 6 touchdowns to Mitchell Trubisky.

The Giants O-Line can’t protect Eli Manning.

The Redskins are who we thought they were as proven by the 43-19 shellacking at the hands of the Saints on Monday night.

The Browns are improved but are still finding ways to win.

The Cowboys have no offense to speak of.

It’s doom and gloom in Flowery Branch right now and rightfully soon. But, if there is any time for the Falcons to get their stuff together, now would be the time.

With two winnable home games before the bye and three after, it’s not so far fetched to think the Falcons could be 6-4 and a chance to put themselves in prime position for a wild-card spot.

To make it even better, they’ll get Deion Jones back right in the middle of it.

Next. Should the Braves Bring Back Nick Markakis?. dark

The Falcons are in prime position for a turnaround to their season. They need to do so in a hurry before the season officially slips away for good.
