The Atlanta Braves have had two very different seasons when looking at the results prior to June and looking at the month and a half since. Atlanta quickly went from the league's best record to one of the worst teams over the last month of the season. Much of this can be pointed to regression all over the roster, with hitters delivering above their career lines returning to expectations. An injury to Spencer Strider coincided with regression from Bryce Elder and Martin Perez as well, leaving the rotation as an obvious question mark after weeks of having more options than spots in the rotation.

All of this adds up to an unquestionable relief that we are closing in on the All-Star Break, and the roster can get a bit of a needed reset. Atlanta needs time to step back and consider what trade deadline additions need to be made and take a breath in what is a heated division race.

The National League East is a two-team race, with Atlanta continuing to cling to its lead while the Philadelphia Phillies haven't slowed down turning their season around in red-hot fashion. Dealing with the consistent pressure that Philadelphia is putting on the roster has to be felt in the middle of what has been a frustrating season.

Braves Getting All-Star Break at Perfect Moment as Phillies Turn up the Pressure

For the Braves, the majority of the roster is going to get three days off to see their families and enter into a bit of a reset. Looking at struggling players like Austin Riley, Bryce Elder, Martin Perez, and Jorge Mateo can take a step back and take a breath, hoping that the time off helps change the recent results.

No matter the answer, there is no denying the break couldn't have arrived at a better moment, as the Braves are showing signs of turning things around but have still endured a difficult last two months. The hope is that the days off will give the roster a needed boost to hold onto the National League East and begin to return to the team they were in the first two months of the season.

It also serves as a chance for the front office to begin to look at the roster and consider where the trade additions might be needed most. There isn't any question the Braves are clear buyers, and this week will hand the team a chance to further explore potential market fits.
