Bijan Robinson and Drake London answered week of questions with epic showing

TheAtlanta Falcons dealt with awful headlinesfor much of the last week, with the focus being the clear frustration from Bijan Robinson and Drake London. Whether it was the receiver arguing with a fan in a loss to Carolina, or the two playmakers sitting side-by-side clearly frustrated and dejected on the sideline there was no question the players deserved better. Enter Michael Penix Jr. and a completely different performance in a 35-14 road win over the Green Bay Packers.

Capable quarterback play elevated the two playmakers to put on an incredible performance. London finished with nine catches for 194 receiving yards on 10 targets, while Bijan Robinson rushed for a pair of touchdowns and 194 yards himself. It was an incredible performance that showed exactly why the duo was so incredibly dejected after the two season opening losses.

All the pair needed was something resembling a capable quarterback and that was on display Thursday night. Atlanta now has a capable starter in Penix and all of the sudden the season is looking far different than it did only hours ago. It also serves as evidence as to why the Falcons were so anxious to get Robinson and London locked up as they did ahead of hte 2026 season.

For London, it was especially impressive as the rest of Atlanta's receivers had underwhelming performances and left little reason for Green Bay to respect them in coverage. Still, the Packers couldn't stop London, who was often running freely and creating big plays.

Atlanta has to hope this is a sign of things to come with two features matchups upcoming against the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens. Playing on the national stage creates an incredible level of pressure for a team that has already been disrespected due to offering such an awful effort in the first two weeks of the season.

It will be interesting to watch whether this is a start of an improbable run or an outlier. Regardless of the answer, there is no denying how elite the playmaking talent is for the Falcons and how needed the win was for a fanbase that has been continually frustrated by the team's ineptitude, leading to booing last week's home effort.

For Robinson, there simply is no way you watch this performance and come away thinking anything other than the back is the best in the league. The ability to create positive plays and space where there is none is unmatched, and this bought Penix time to settle in and offer what was the best game Atlanta has offered in quite some time.
