The NFL has found a way to keep fans engaged all throughout the offseason. It started with free agency, then led to the NFL draft, rookie minicamps, and now it's schedule release time.
The league will officially release the entire 18-week schedule on May 14 at 8 p.m. ET. Despite that being the timeframe, there have been leaks. And the NFL appears to hold the Falcons in high regard.
According to Zach Klein of WSB-Ch.2 Atlanta, sources have told him the Falcons will have two Monday Night Football games against the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams. Both contests will come at home. They will also reportedly travel to play the Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football.
Maria Martin of 11AliveNews NBC in Atlanta also added the Falcons will travel to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in an NFC South battle on Thursday Night Football, making it at least five primetime games for the Falcons in 2025.
Falcons Reportedly Have Five Primetime Games in 2025
Atlanta had four primetime contests in 2024. During that campaign, they played against the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Las Vegas Raiders. They ended up going 3-1 in those games, falling to only the Chiefs.
Atlanta has built a nice foundation of players on the team. That list includes Michael Penix Jr., Bijan Robinson, Drake London, AJ Terrell, and Jessie Bates III, to name a few.
They also made some splashes in the first round by drafting Jalon Walker and James Pearce to bolster the defensive front. This team has the talent to make a playoff push in 2025, and they'll have the opportunity to showcase their talent to the nation in these contests.
These primetime games are always exciting for fan bases but can also be nerve-wrecking. Waiting all day for your team to play can feel like a drag at times, but when they win, it feels so much better and worth staying up late. Atlanta showed they can shine under the bright lights and will have multiple opportunities to do so next season.
