The 2025 season is five months away but fans can't wait for the new campaign to roll around. The NFL Draft is the next thing on the league agenda but players are looking down the line.

New Orleans EDGE Cam Jordan was a guest on "Good Morning Football" and was asked about the Saints. During that appearance, he made an outlandish comment, saying the Saints are one of the best teams in the league.

Jordan said, "I think we have a team that when healthy, top two."

Cam Jordan Thinks Saints Can Be Top Team in NFL

This past season, the Saints finished with a 5-12 record and fired Dennis Allen mid-season. That led to them hiring Kellen Moore to be the new lead man for this organization. While he was one of the best offensive minds in the league last season, he walked into one of the worst places in the league.

There's a reason why New Orleans' job was the last one to get filled. New Orleans went into the offseason as the team with the worst cap situation in the league. Add in the fact that quarterback Derek Carr has a $80 million dead cap hit in 2025 and $59 million next season.

That is forcing their hand to keep him under center even though he's an underwhelming threat. Despite that, the Saints had one of the worst defenses in the league. Last season, New Orleans ranked 30th in the league in total defense (379.9), 27th in pass defense (238.5), and 31st in run defense (141.4).

In addition, the Saints didn't make any big-time moves to improve the roster. They are running it back with a similar roster as the 2024 team. The biggest addition was safety Justin Reid but he isn't someone who will magically make this an elite team.

Jordan is being overly confident about his team but it's more than likely that he'll eat his words when the season rolls around. The Falcons and Saints series is tied 56-56 all -ime but I'm sure Atlanta can't wait to play against their division rival.
