The Atlanta Braves have had a disappointing season in 2025. Entering Sunday’s series finale with the Colorado Rockies with a 31-38 record, the likelihood of Atlanta making the playoffs is decreasing by the day and their last World Series title in 2021 is getting further in the rear view mirror.
The losses could come with some changes in Atlanta at the end of the season but Brian Snitker may not be the only figure from that championship team to update his resume. One World Series hero for the Braves was set to begin a new chapter with a National League contender but is now looking for his fourth team of the season after quitting over the weekend.
Former Braves OF Eddie Rosario Opts Out of Minor League Contract with Brewers
According to baseball reporter Francys Romero on X, Eddie Rosario has elected to opt out of his minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers. Rosario signed with the Brewers on May 14 and was impressive at Triple-A Nashville, hitting .290/.373/.449 with a pair of home runs and 12 RBI in 20 games.
According to industry sources, Eddie Rosario is expected to opt out on June 15 and elect free agency.

Rosario slashed .290/.373/.449 with 2 home runs and 12 RBIs in 20 Triple-A games since signing with the Brewers but did not receive an MLB call-up.
While his numbers were impressive, the Brewers didn’t have room on their roster to give him a call up. Jackson Chourio and Sal Frelick have held down starting roles for Milwaukee in center and right field this season and left fielder Isaac Collins has performed admirably, hitting .234/.354/.339 with a pair of home runs, 11 RBI and seven RBI in 54 games this season. With fellow outfielder Garrett Mitchell rehabbing from an oblique injury suffered in April, Rosario was best served to opt out and look for other opportunities.
Rosario has a special place in the hearts of Braves fans after a red-hot run during the 2021 postseason. After being acquired at the trade deadline from the Cleveland Guardians, Rosario hit .383/.456/.617 with three homers and 11 RBI and won National League Championship Series MVP honors on the way to the title.
Life in the major leagues hasn’t been as great for Rosario since then. Spending time with the Braves, Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers, Rosario has a .221/.267/.379 batter’s line since 2022 and went hitless in four at-bats with a pair of strikeouts after a three-game cameo with Atlanta this season.
Now looking for his fourth organization of the season, Rosario’s chances in the major leagues could be running out. But the 33-year-old should get an opportunity after playing well in the Brewers’ organization.
