The Atlanta Hawks revamped their roster in a big way this offseason, catapulting themselves to Eastern Conference contender status. In a wide-open conference, the Hawks have as good of a chance as anybody to make a deep postseason run in the 2025-26 season.
With the infusion of talent such as Kristaps Porzingis, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and Luke Kennard, a few Hawks had to be squeezed. One of those was promising young power forward Dominick Barlow. Only four months after signing a contract with the Hawks, the team refused to pick up Barlow's team option for next season, making him a free agent.
ESPN's Shams Charania reported that it didn't take too long for the 22-year-old combo big to find a new home as Barlow signed a two-way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Philadelphia 76ers are signing former Spurs and Hawks forward Dominick Barlow on a two-way NBA contract, Life Sports Agency CEO Todd Ramasar tells ESPN.

Former Hawks Big Man Dominick Barlow Signs with the 76ers
Barlow is no stranger to two-way contracts. This will be the fourth straight season the Team Overtime product will begin the season on a two-way deal, splitting his time between the G League and the NBA. Throughout his pro career, Barlow has had plenty of chances in the NBA, including 35 games (four starts) with the Hawks. In those appearances for Atlanta, Barlow averaged 4.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, 0.5 blocks in 10.7 minutes per game.
This is a reasonable flyer for the Sixers, who are trying to have as much depth as possible behind the injury-prone superstar Joel Embiid. Barlow will be low on the pecking order with Andre Drummond, Trendon Watford, and Adem Bona also in the mix, but things can always go south in Philadelphia and open up opportunities for the young New Jersey native.
Barlow has shown enough flashes here and there on both ends of the floor to warrant more chances. At the same time, he needs to put it together for an extended period of time to secure a standard contract like he did with the Hawks towards the end of last season.
