Getting Kyle Pitts involved is the next challenge for Falcons' offense

The Atlanta Falcons showed against the Green Bay Packers that when they have solid quarterback play, the sky is the limit. Michael Penix Jr.put on a show in Week 3, and it was Bijan Robinson and Drake Londonwho were the beneficiaries of his strong play.After the last two weeks with Cooper Rush as the starting quarterback, London hadn't been able to make a huge impact on the field.

Robinson struggled to get anything going on the ground last week against the Carolina Panthers after they stacked the box, basically daring Rush to throw the ball. When he did, bad things happened. Now, with somebody who's a threat to throw the ball downfield, defenses have to find out if they want to stop the run or pass, and the Packers had a hard time doing either.

It's time to get Kyle Pitts involved

With Robinson and London finally unleashed, the hope is that it continues, but the Falcons have another test on their hands. Through three games, Kyle Pitts has been quiet, and it's hard to say that most of it is his fault. He had a chance at a possible touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but Rush underthrew him, leading to a pass breakup. Against the Panthers, nobody was able to get anything in the pass game.

In the Packers' game, Pitts had some moments where he could've had opportunities to make a play, but Penix went to London and was very successful. Penix will probably look back at the film and see that Pitts was open on a few plays, and that's all that needs to happen for him to get involved.

There was some hype surrounding Pitts' role in the offense after seeing what he did in the preseason, but that was with Tua Tagovailoa throwing him the ball. Tagovailoa is known as more of a quarterback who makes quick, short passes, and that could feed into Pitts' success. On the other hand, Penix can push the ball down the field with his arm, and other players could be higher in the pecking order than Pitts.

The good news is that it's still the beginning of the season, and Penix is just now getting acclimated after missing the first two weeks. As the season goes on, there will definitely be more opportunity to get Pitts involved in the offense, and the Falcons have to find a way to do so. If not, this can end up being another one of those seasons for him where he doesn't produce as much, and neither he nor the Falcons will like that.
