Finding fault with Stefanski is difficult when the front office handed the head coach Rush as a backup and Michael Penix Jr. was a product of the previous regime. No question, any judgements on the head coach this early based on what he has been given to work with are impossible to make.
The only possible fault fans might find is pointing out the incredibly high usage rate of Bijan Robinson. Having the back take so many hits in a season opener is clearly concerning when your quarterback is doing nothing to support the offense. Still, it is difficult to even find fault with this when Bijan is your only hope of moving the football.
It appears that this is being treated as a rebuilding year, and with this comes an incredible level of grace for Kevin Stefanski. While rebuilding seasons don't always protect head coaching jobs, owner Arthur Blank has a clear record of being patient, even with hires that aren't working.

Arthur Smith and Raheem Morris both stand out as recent examples, with there being red flags for both head coaching hires and Blank riding out an additional season with each leader. Atlanta fans should expect the same of Stefanski, and with this offer, a bit more patience when it comes to viewing this season as a clear measuring stick for anything of note.
The only caveat to this is if Penix is able to return to the field and offer any version of a capable starting quarterback. If this were to happen, fans will get a better idea of Stefanski's ability and potential ceiling with a roster that has the talent to be a borderline contender, if there is any level of productivity from the quarterback position.
With this in mind, fans must continue to suffer through another season of losing as Atlanta appears content to embrace a reset. One that dates back to the 2017 season, when the Falcons last enjoyed a winning record and playoff contention.
