By John Buhler
The Atlanta Falcons crushed the Houston Texans by putting up 42 points in the first three quarters. Houston scored all their points in garbage time. Atlanta won 48-21.
Your Atlanta Falcons move to 4-0 after obliterating the Houston Texans, 48-21 Sunday afternoon. Houston may have put up three scores in the 4th quarter, but Atlanta Falcons HC Dan Quinn had already pulled his starters at that point. Houston ended up benching starting QB Ryan Mallett in favor of Brian Hoyer, who will likely start on Thursday Night Football against the Indianapolis Colts.

Desmond Trufant looks like an All-Pro at cornerback this year. Ryan Mallet targeted Trufant’s side of the field. It didn’t work for the Texans QB, as Desmond led the Atlanta Falcons’ defense with two fumble recoveries, including a scoop and score to make it 21-0 Atlanta. Fate would have it that the game would end on another scoop and score, this one an 80 yarder from LB Nate Stupar.
This was a statement game for the Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta is pushing for supremacy in the NFC with the likes of the Green Bay Packers and the Arizona Cardinals. Dan Quinn had his team playing championship football from opening kickoff. Atlanta didn’t need to orchestrate a miraculous 4th Quarter comeback to win this one. They crushed the Houston Texans.
The Atlanta Falcons will host the Washington Redskins in Week 5. Washington is 2-2 in a wide open NFC East and would love to play spoiler of the 4-0 Atlanta Falcons. Should Dan Quinn handle the rest of the season with a one game at a time approach, who knows good this team could get. We could not have asked for a better start to the 2015 NFL Season for our Atlanta Falcons. Rise Up!
