The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets dropped their third consecutive game against the North Carolina Tar Heels this past Saturday by a final score of 38-31.

Of course, it seems to happen every year that the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets fall to either Duke, UNC, or both. For some reason, Georgia Tech has always struggled against their division rivals from North Carolina, and this year is no different.

The Jackets have been a shell of last year’s team, blowing a 21-0 lead against the Tar Heels and not being able to contain the UNC offense. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets now sit with a 2-3 record and an 0-2 record in the ACC. Their season is on the brink, to be sure, and their hopes as repeating as ACC Coastal Champions are diminishing every game.

Is Tech’s season over? Of course not; but it is looking more and more likely if Head Coach Paul Johnson cannot figure out a way to rectify glaring flaws in their gameplan. The Ramblin’ Wreck is still capable of winning the Coastal, despite being 0-2 in ACC play. Thankfully, the division is weak enough that the Jackets can rebound and make a run.
