Atlanta Hawks vs. Philadelphia 76ers preview: Nine in Philly?

The Atlanta Hawks continue to roll through the NBA like a 3-year-old in Fall leaves, and after taking down the impressive Washington Wizards in even more impressive fashion, the team heads into the Wells Fargo Center ready to take on the Philadelphia 76ers.

With a win tonight, the Hawks would extend their winning streak to nine-games in a row–and even though no team should ever be counted out, that should happen tonight.

The 76ers have struggled to a 7-29 record this season, and are currently the third-worst team in the NBA. Still, the team is coming off of its second back-to-back win of the season.  Philly took down the Indiana Pacers 93-92 Saturday and beat the Brooklyn Nets 90-88 the Friday before that.

Against the Pacers, Tony Wroten led the Sixers with 20 points off of the bench and dished out nine assists as well.

Wroten has been the team’s best player this season, despite starting just 15 games. He’s averaging 17.1 points per game, 5.3 assists per game and has a 15.2 PER–four better than the next player, Michael Carter-Williams.

The Sixers head into this game 30th in scoring, 21st in rebounding, 26th in assists per game and 24th in points allowed per game. The Hawks are clearly the better team in any category you could think of, but the game still needs to be played.
