Non-Common Opponents Games (2 Apiece)

And here is where it gets interesting.  I really think that the NFC South will come down to the two games against non-common opponents.  Atlanta finished in the third so the Falcons will play the Minnesota Vikings and the San Francisco 49ers.  Carolina won the division and will play the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks (yikes!).  New Orleans came in second and will play the Detroit Lions and the Arizona Cardinals, both of which were NFC Wild Card teams in 2014.  Tampa Bay gets fellow cellar dwellers the Chicago Bears and the St. Louis Rams.

More from Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta will beat the Vikings in a revenge game.  Mike Nolan’s lack there of defense made Teddy Bridgewater look like Peyton Manning in Minneapolis last fall.  Though the Falcons have to play in Santa Clara, I believe they will defeat a depleted Niners team on the road.  It seems like every day a new 49er retires from football.  Carolina is a solid team, but the Packers and Seahawks are great teams.  I would be shocked if neither team makes it to the NFC Championship Game in 2015.  It could happen, but I don’t think the Panthers win either of these tough, tough games.

New Orleans has to win these games if they want to make the playoffs.  I’m afraid that the Cards defense and the Lions defensive line are too much for Drew Brees to handle alone in 2015.  The Saints don’t win either game.  Tampa Bay could very well split these games.  Jameis Winston can have his NFL coming out party against the Bears and I wouldn’t be surprised.  The Rams are close to relevance and I really wouldn’t want them on my schedule this year.
