The Atlanta Falcons begin their three-day Minicamp of 2015 this afternoon at 1:30 PM.  These practices are open to the public and if you want to see what the Dan Quinn Era of Falcons football looks like, make the trek up to Flowery Branch any of these next three days.

The gates open at least an hour before practice begins today through Thursday.  Tomorrow’s practice starts at 1:30 PM and Thursday’s starts at 11:30 AM.  With all the pumped up music DJ Dan Quinn uses in practice, it sounds like a lot of fun for Falcons fans to see their team in action.

Quinn preaches his players to play a fast and physical brand of football.  He believes that players perform at their best when they aren’t second guessing themselves with complex mental checklists.  Kyle Shanahan emphasizes lateral quickness in his highly publicized zone blocking scheme.  I think anyone that ventures up to Flowery Branch these next few days will see a more amped up intensity than in years past.

  • It will be a great opportunity to see the entire 2015 Rookie Class in action now that OLB Vic Beasley has officially signed his first contract with the Atlanta Falcons.  You’ll get to see RB Tevin Coleman challenge Devonta Freeman for the starting running back job for the Falcons.  Be sure to get a good look at CB Jalen Collins, DT Grady Jarrett, and WR Justin Hardy as these rookies will be a major part of our team’s future.

This will be a different experience at Minicamp than in years past for one reason alone: it’s the Dan Quinn show.  Guys will play how they practice this season, with a fiery passion.  If you can get close enough to the action, you might be able to make out the next great Bryan Cox quote.  So if Cox stops ragging on Ra’Shede Hageman, is it Grady Jarrett’s turn to appreciate the genius in Bryan Cox’s teaching methods?

Seriously, if you can make it to Flowery Branch any of these next three days, go.  It’s an exciting time for the Atlanta Falcons where change is so welcomed and continuous improvement is so heavily emphasized.  So get ready for some DMX, some Papa Roach, and some Atlanta Falcons football.  Rise Up, ATL!
