Atlanta Falcons: Top 5 Players Heading Into 2015
By John Buhler
Since coming to the Atlanta Falcons from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2009, Matt Bryant has arguably been one of the most consistent kickers in the NFL, especially from over 50 yards. Last year, Bryant nearly made the Pro Bowl by converting on 29 of his 32 field goal attempts. He did not miss a field goal inside of 50 yards all season. Bryant went an incredible 7 of 10 from beyond 50 yards including a 52-yard game winner over the arch rival New Orleans Saints in overtime in Week 1.

Bryant seems like he gets better with age. The 40-year old placekicker out of Baylor University has never missed an extra point in Falcons uniform and converted on 88.6% of his field goal attempts in his six seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.
It’s rare to say that one of the team’s best five players is its kicker, but Matt Bryant is no ordinary kicker. His ability to convert kicks from just about anywhere on the gridiron makes the Atlanta Falcons one of the few teams in the NFL capable of scoring every time they touch the football. During his time with the Falcons, Bryant has been one of the most prolific and consistent placekickers in franchise history. At this point, I would safely say that Matt Bryant trails only eventual Pro Football Hall of Famer K Morten Andersen as the team’s greatest kicker.
